Homestay

Alpha Educational Institute uses the services of Student Links to provide homestay accommodation. Homestay families are carefully selected and offer a safe and caring environment. The typical placement fee is NZ$200* and weekly board is $230.

(The $200*  Placement Fee applies to students arriving in NZ from overseas.  If already residing in NZ, please refer to Student Links for the Fee).

Homestay includes: 

• Airport pickup and transport to homestay
• Private room with bed, desk, lamp, heater, wardrobe
• Bathroom facilities
• Laundry
• Three meals per day - breakfast/lunch/dinner
• Help with catching the bus for the first two days
• Return transport to airport
• Being taken to the school and introduced to The Director and assistance with the enrolment process for High School Students, assistance is also given to find a suitable High School.

Homestay families include the visitor in their activities. This is a great way to experience the New Zealand way of life and practise your English in an everyday family setting.

Care Provider / Guardianship Services

It is a New Zealand Government requirement that schools provide adequate care provision for all International Students under the new Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.  For this reason, Alpha Educational Institute requires that students under the age of 18 years, when they enroll,  have an appointed Care Provider (or guardian) resident in New Zealand. The Homestay agency mentioned above can also provide this service.
